I can’t believe I am finished my final week of class! I have completed
so much throughout this course, beginning with my Cup of Wisdom Badges!

I completed this badge through the weekly homework challenges. Through
this, I earned my gamification, digital identity, digizen, PBL, PJBL, Digital Teacher, and the Mobile Learning Badges. I also earned bonus points and combo points by
completing extra work and finishing it all in a timely manner! Although these were tough and a lot of work, I am happy with all that I have learned as a result of working through them!

I then earned my Professional order of the TPACK Teacher Badges in the
Gamified TPACK Teacher Quest!

In order to get this badge, I showed dependability, professionalism, and collaboration during my time in the course. I showed up on time to each class, collaborated with my peers in a variety of different projects and assignments. I showed professionalism in my attitudes and behaviours, as well as my views towards the challenges of learning new technology and tools!

Finally, I completed my genius hour blog portfolio! This is a collection of artifacts and reflective
posts that I created and shared on the Internet to showcase my digital and pedagogical skills while
documenting my experiences with the Genius Hour question I chose!

As a learner, I feel I have grown
significantly during my time in EDUC 8Y34, Teaching and Learning with
Technology. Coming into this class I had very limited confidence in my
technology abilities. I didn’t think I would incorporate any technology into my
block. This is evident through my first ever tweet which stated, “My tech skills definitely have room
to improve! .” Over the past 10 weeks, my skills have
definitely improved drastically! So far in my placement
class, I have taught two lessons (three if you include my micro teaching with a
few select students from my class!) I have been able to incorporate the use of
the SMART Board into each of these lessons. I realize how fortunate I am that
my placement teacher really promotes the use of technology and that it is
economically feasible in my school. For these reasons I hope that as I enter
block I will continue to incorporate technology to a greater extent, including
various tools I have learned about in this technology class.
In terms of my Genius Hour Digital Portfolio,
I have completed all of my weekly blog posts as well as my artefacts. I worked
each week to complete the different artefact required, as well as the blog post
for that week. In my blog posts I reflected on my weekly class, usually
including my emotions and stress from the day! Overall I have learned so much
and I know that I can use many of the tools in my future classrooms.
Your Blog looks amazing Mikayla! I really like your design on your blog and the personalization of your blog. It is awesome that you have a large picture, how did you do that? This is a great addition to the homepage of the blog. I would maybe add your name somewhere on the front page of your blog. Other than your twitter account on the right hand side, your name is not visible. It looks like you have completed all your final blog posts. I thoroughly enjoyed reading/ listening to all of your posts. I like how you included a video for one of your blog posts of the week, very creative! Your Learning Objective artifact is really cool! I LOVE it!! Your blog is well organized and easy to navigate through. Thanks for sharing your link and I look forward to seeing more future blog posts as you go into the classroom!

ReplyDeleteHi Mikayla!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed looking through all the different aspects of your blog! I thought you chose such an interesting topic, and outdoor learning is definitely something I would love to look into for my classroom.
All your artifacts were awesome, and all super interesting to watch/look at/read. I think they were really well done, and all of them unique so it really showed that you tried many different tech tools for your blog.
Your pictures and videos were always sited, so we as readers and watchers knew where you got your resources from. I loved that you added visuals to the reflections to make it enjoyable to read.
I really like the layout that you chose to do for your blog! I think it is inviting, and it is easy to read! The titles of the different reflections and posts were distinct, and made it easier for readers to follow along. Overall, your blog template and look is very visually appealing, and I think it helps and pulls people in to want to read it.
Finally, when going through the different posts, and tools it looks like the grammar and spelling is very well done.
I really like the idea that you did a vlog as well, experimenting with this tool, I feel like that is really brave :)
Your blog, technology tools, TED Talk, the links/pictures you added, and the overall topic was awesome, and really informative. I know that people would really enjoy reading your blog.
Wow! You knocked this out of the park. Fantastic blogging! All around. :)
